Does a knick in a board
not make it a different board;
could you not tell it from others
at a mere glance?
Every day we wake up and look
and the mirror shows new creatures,
different from ourselves,
with photographic evidence
that we
are
changing,
and would the Ship of Theseus,
absent all repairs,
be flung to the ocean and sink –
no longer a ship at all?
