I have heard, from a young age,
to deafen all my thoughts of rage
to be calm and tamper such desires
and hide the heat of inward fires –
and good men neither want nor need
to fan the flames, to let them feed,
and good men know how to forgive
while their assailants go, and live –
but even still, good men must crave
some bitter peace
in an unmarked grave.
