Unwanted Goods

Look upon our works, ye blissful,
these mounds of discarded product,
envision the paths of fingers toiling
for hours,
hundreds of lifetimes wasted in days,
to bring these gaudy rags to market,
and picture, please, the market
deciding it is better to cast them away
to the sands of the southern deserts
than to place them on poor bodies,
dirty skin, cold flesh, to
discard them fully
a creation wanted by none,
beyond even charity,
and dream of a society that cannot
produce waste at such scale.
