Unknown Clay-worker Of The Nile

Anonymous on the black-tack placard
Nile Region. Between 300-30 B C.
Unknown maker.
It must have been a normal day,
a normal day of labor, stinking of
earth and paint, a day like
any other, the scrape of raw clay into
the hollow of a vessel, a bowl,
like any other
a product that slipped to eternity.
How may our works outlive us,
how may our bowls and pans be passed
forever, falling out of use but
being praised as a trace of us,
how may we angle our work,
and aim for limitless use
